Finance Manager
Location: Leicestershire
Salary: £70,000 – £80,000

Overview:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Manager to join a successful and expanding housebuilder based in Leicestershire. Reporting to the Finance Director, this is a key role responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of all financial reporting while providing meaningful management information to support business performance.

This position will suit a technically strong and hands-on finance professional who enjoys leading the full finance cycle — from statutory reporting and audit through to management accounts and business partnering — within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Take ownership of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting cycle, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
• Lead on the preparation of statutory accounts, audit files, and year-end processes, working closely with external auditors.
• Produce accurate and timely management accounts, board packs, and variance analysis to support decision-making.
• Maintain robust balance sheet reconciliations, control accounts, and financial governance across all entities.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow to ensure strong financial discipline and visibility.
• Partner with operational and commercial teams to provide insight into project performance and profitability.
• Drive process and system improvements to enhance reporting efficiency and financial control.
• Manage and develop a small finance team, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and professional growth.
• Support the Finance Director with strategic initiatives, tax and audit compliance, and system developments.

About You:
• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with strong post-qualification experience.
• Proven background as a Finance Manager or Financial Controller, ideally within housebuilding, construction, or a related sector.
• The ideal candidate will come from an audit background, seeking their first or second move into industry. However, experience within the construction or housebuilding sector — either through your audit portfolio or direct industry exposure — is essential.
• Solid technical grounding in financial and statutory accounting, with experience managing audits and producing year-end accounts.
• Strong management accounting and analytical skills, with commercial awareness.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
• Highly organised, detail-driven, and proactive.
• Advanced Excel and ERP system experience.

What’s on Offer:
• Competitive salary between £70,000 – £80,000, depending on experience.
• Opportunity to take ownership of the financial reporting process within a growing, ambitious housebuilder.
• Direct exposure to senior leadership and involvement in strategic planning.
